Apollo is unusual as a god worshiped equally in Greece and Rome, his name unchanged. His following in Rome is strong, and his temples are considered holy by many who revere the legends associated with this great god of the sun, music, archery, healing, and disease. Defiling temples to Apollo is thought to be among the gravest and most perilous of sins, as he is at times a wrathful god who can bring down terrible plagues. Heroes who believe in Apollo consider it a foremost priority to reclaim such places to appease the god and hopefully bring blessings instead of curses.
