Everything has gone awry... I don’t know how to explain what happened... This was supposed to be a scientific expedition, but it turned into a nightmare. Last night something monstrous attacked us. We found Dolph hanging from the branches, mutilated beyond recognition. There was blood everywhere. It was a clear message...

Whatever did this was huge and ruthless. And that’s not all! Tech is useless here. Our GPS, radio, watches...none of them work. BUT weirder...even the map is wrong- it’s like the forest is alive and shifting around us. We have to get out of here!

We ran with only the essentials. I’m writing this journal as a last resort, in case we don’t make it. Maybe someone will find it and learn from our mistakes.

If that's you, it means I’m gone and you are in mortal peril. Pay attention to every word. And may your God, luck and all the wisdom of the world be with you.

AWRY - The Forest is a pocket-sized horror card game for 1 to 4 players.

The goal is to escape the forest. Your individual progress is represented by Forest cards. The artwork on these cards connects seamlessly to present the path of your escape.

During each round, it is crucial to obtain Shelter and Provisions any way you can. Players lose a Life Token for each if they do not spend those cards during the Dusk phase. Spend Navigation cards to draw from the Forest deck during the Dusk phases. This is how you obtain Forest cards. But beware... evil lurks within.

Steven ★★★★★

The journal mechanic hooked me immediately—I spent the first hour just reading every scrap of lore I could find. The way the story unfolds through those scattered notes really sells the feeling of a scientific expedition gone horribly wrong. It’s genuinely unsettling in a way most horror games don’t

Nicholas I. ★★★★★

The journal entries scattered through this one had me genuinely uneasy by the second night, especially the part about the thing that attacked their camp. I finished it in one sitting and immediately wanted to go back and reread the earlier fragments knowing what I know now.

Edward ★★★★★

The way the story unfolds through fragmented logs rather than a straight narrative kept me up way past my bedtime. That first attack scene genuinely got under my skin, which rarely happens with horror anymore. Short, but it hits hard.
